Whew, very scary M! The worst we had growing up was this mural that covered the whole wall. It was a 1970's sunset scene in the popular colors of the day...brown and orange. It looked like our den had been turned into a cheesy portrait studio backdrop!

My parents had wallpaper like this! Scary eh? I think it was one of the reasons I left home!
